The
Alber Cellcorder CLC-200 at a Glance
The
Alber Cellcorder data storing, battery multimeter provides accurate
information in a fraction of time. This lightweight unit displays
and records readings of cell float voltage, internal cell resistance,
and intercell connection resistance. You may enter other data, such
as specific gravity and temperature, manually or automatically using
a compatible hydrometer.
Use the Cellcorder on a single cell or multicell modules. Automatic
data storage for seven strings of 256 cells each or 28 strings of
64 cells each saves time and ensures a permanent record of readings.
An RS-232 port allows data transfer to a computer for further analysis
and report generation.
The bright, four line by 20 character display shows test results
and operation instructions. With its internal battery fully charged,
the Cellcorder can test for six hours. Isolated operation makes
the unit portable, safe, and easy to move around. Recharge or AC
power is via a wall plug adapter.
System Features
Float Voltage Readings
- The Cellcorder measures the voltage applied during full float
operation. The voltage range covers all cells or modules up to 16
volts. Reading accuracy is to four full digits.
Internal Cell Resistance - The internal resistance
of a cell is calculated by how that cell responds to a momentary
load, using instantaneous voltage drop and applied load current.
Algorithms make this measurement possible on cells floating on-line
or off-line.
Intercell Resistance - The
Cellcorder measures the resistance between two electrically connected
cell terminals. The measurement consists of contact resistance and
connector resistance at the points of connection to the cell terminals.
Auto Ranging
- The Cellcorder automatically selects the correct voltage range,
load resistor, and time for a test.
Data Extraction and Analysis - After testing, you
may connect the Cellcorder via RS-232 to a computer to analyze test
data, display results in bar graph or tab format, and print a test
report or save it to a file. You can export this file in ASCII or
comma-delimited format to have off-the-shelf programs or the optional
Cellcorder trending software generate customized reports.
Cellcorder Advantages
Low Cost
- Because the Alber Cellcorder replaces three instruments, each
costing more than the Cellcorder, you will realize significant savings
from taking more readings in less time and analyzing data more rapidly.
Multicell Capability -The Cellcorder provides readings
on either single cells or multicell modules.
Reliable Readings - The Cellcorder performs superbly,
even in high noise environments, without having to disconnect the
battery from service. The instrument uses up to a 70 amp DC load
(on 2V cells) to calculate internal cell resistance and intercell
resistance. Circuitry rejects the 60Hz ripple often troublesome
to AC-based impedance and conductance meters.
The CLC-200 Cellcorder comes with test leads,
carrying case, download software, AC adapter, and interface cable.
Data and trend analysis software is included. |
